My general rant: I will call them blended winglets, not Sharklets; There is no CEO, it's just simply put, an Airbus 319/320/321, or the 320NEO, 321NEO etc. I didn't land IN DAL, I landed AT DAL. On the other hand, I did land in Dallas.

Having a bad day?

Calm down a bit, you just got here. Have a pint or something. 8-)

Hallo, Mr. V8-DLA. I'm the creater of CentralJapan map. I have a question to you.
Don't you use old version of YS?
This scenery made with newest version of scenery editor which include some new function. So, it can be load only with ver.20150425 of YS.
(this info is written in readme file, but it is written in Japanese.)
if you can't load with newest version of YS, please reply again.

Hi K2W - Thanks very much for coming to HQ.

What functions if any do you use from the latest YS? if just used the scenery editor, but no new functions, we can wind back the definitions in the FLD file to make it reverse compatible?

Actualy, I used test version(20150415) editor.
FIELD
FLDNAME NALPS
GND 0 60 107
SKY 23 106 189
GNDSPECULAR TRUE
DEFAREA LAND
BASEELV 0.00m
MAGVAR 7.00deg
CANRESUME TRUE
PCK "00000000.ter" 11
TerrMesh
SPEC TRUE
NBL 1 1
TMS 8909.33 11092.18
LEF 127 127 127
BLO 1100.00 R 1 0 80 127 1 0 80 127
BLO 1100.00
This is top of my NAlps.fld file.
you can see "GNDSPECULAR TRUE" at the 5th raw and "SPEC TRUE" at 3rd raw of each element(12th raw of quote).
These raws are key of reflection on/off.

and you can see "CANRESUME TRUE" at 9th. this is new section, too.

these sections are new ones. may be from latest version.

After all, I guess these new section of .fld file cause load error for old version of YS.
Actualy, I experienced load error in ver. 20130805 and now I can load these sceneries in ver. 20150425.
I don't know we have any other new sections.

Good! :D
At this chance, let me promote my CentralJapan map.

This map is of Kanto & Chubu region of Japan.
It include Japanese highest mountains called Japanese Alps (and ,of course, Mt. Fuji, too). Terrain datas are inported mainly from SRTM data search(http://srtm.csi.cgiar.org/SELECTION/inputCoord.asp), and you will enjoy these landscapes and NOE flights.
It also incrude most of airfields and navigation aids which are in real this area. So, you can simulate real IFR flight with this scenery.
You can use Sky Vector(https://skyvector.com/) for flight planning and navigation.

thank you.

What I did was only translate gray scale tiff image hight map to elevation grid.
I think you can get same outputs with elevation grid generater which is posted here,
but I did that work manually with graphic tool, text editor, Microsoft Excel and Scenery editor.

atachment file is introduction of my method to convert height map to .ter file, which was originaly written in
Japanese at when I posted RABAUL map to OHP pack. http://mrsandj.sakura.ne.jp/ht/oranleed ... RABAUL.htm

you should limit each elevation grid size to be smaller than 100*100 for fps on YS.
if you want to make bigger one, you should separate original image, make each elevation grids and put those .ter files in a row.
