Getting YSFlight out there.
So I went to an Air Museum today (the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum: http://www.aviationmuseum.net/) and they had a nice little 'training hall', with some old flight trainers, and some little PC's with FS2002/FS2004, running at about 20fps. It was at this moment I thought:
'Kids will be most interested in this stuff, and the computers obviously cant handle it. YSFlight has a wide range of aircraft that would appeal to kids, and is pretty simple as far as graphics go, and easy to learn'
So I thought 'Why dont i go around to small museums in need of a simple, cheap yet interactive stations in which people of all ages can fly a desired aircraft?'
This would also be easy to set up and need no really beefy PC's
I think I may ask my local small flight museum (Burtonwood heitaige centre: http://www.rafburtonwood.com/) if they would be interested in taking an old dell OptiPlex off my hands with YSFlight (plus some packs) pre installed.
This was just an idea, but I'd like to hear your thoughts and suggestions. I'm sure this has been suggested before but I think its time we really did it.
Thanks for listening. NeurAxaL.

Money aside, I think this would be an awesome thing if it works out!

The laptop would be counted as an asset and counted as a capital acquisition, under equity.
Should be fine as they are not selling YSF but meerly access to their museum which just so happens to have YSF.
I dunno, not a lawyer.

Yeah, but the museum I'm looking at is (i may be wrong) a charity. whatever they earn they put back into the company, so i dont see why they would want to make money off it. no-one gets paid.decaff_42 wrote:You'd want to be sure that money is not being made from his as it might be seen as selling or renting YSFlight, which is free. I suppose you could say it is paying for electricity/attendant, but you might want to contact Soji about it first...

Lol yeah, its a desktop but has a 305 watt PSU so i don't think power should be so much of an issue.OfficerFlake wrote:Businesses run not for profit have a few different rules Decaff,
