[SCENERY] United Kingdom

Post by Dan » Fri Dec 04, 2015 9:40 pm

United Kingdom

Image

Here's our major update to Gunny's United Kingdom Light map. In order to reduce lag we have re-constructed the United Kingdom as well as adding Western Europe and Norway. This map has been scaled down to create a more realistic flight time for YSFlight maps. In the future we plan to add more airports the the map in the UK and Europe. I hope you enjoy this version of the map!

Consider this an early Christmas present from us!

It seems that most of the airports are unpaved, so you will explode upon spawning, or touching down when landing.

IS the default area in the FLD set to NO AREA? change to LAND to resolve. Dunno why but YSF complains even in paved rec regions if it is in "NO AREA"...

Yup R/W rectangular regions for both maps or just one big one to cover it all.

Very nice work on the map. Has anyone ever made a map with a regular version and a snow version before? Brilliant idea! :)

Yes. Kingfisher AFB by Stykkisholmur. It has a snow version in addition to the regular version. He also put some snow on the runways.

But back to the topic - absolutely fantastic job by Dan and Dave. This must have taken lots of hours to fine-tune and do properly. Love the updated Heathrow especially. Now I can "simulate" a flight BA flight from Heathrow to Linbury in a video!

My general rant: I will call them blended winglets, not Sharklets; There is no CEO, it's just simply put, an Airbus 319/320/321, or the 320NEO, 321NEO etc. I didn't land IN DAL, I landed AT DAL. On the other hand, I did land in Dallas.

Nice work guys, and glad to hear you've updated the map so I can actually land at airports besides Heathrow... I lost three Lightning F.6s to that last night... :?

Ah the old speed bird.
@ Dan & Dave.Do you think it would be ok for Pat to add some fueling trucks or stations to your UK upgrade if he wanted to?
