Solo Glider display.

Post by plunderbird » Mon Feb 20, 2012 3:33 pm

I'm starting to work on a glider display. I plan to use an ASK 21, with a minor tweek to the .DAT file. This is to alow tighter loops. As the dat stands, you need a lot of space to loop. When (if) I get good enough, I might look at loading a short video up, probably to Youtube.

Info:- in the 80's - 90's I saw a display by a pair of gliders. (Aerobatic, but I can't remember the type.) They flew to a special version of Pink Floyd's "Shine on you crazy diamond". As I have not read, or seen anything about glider flying at YSFAS, I thought I might try something, based on this.

I have got three pices of music in mind. Just need to decide what to fly to. The music is:-

Albertross.
Deep Space nine main theme.
Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy theme.

As far as I know, there are no aerobatic glider types in YSF, that's why I'm flying a .dat moded ASK 21. As they have a number of different color schemes, to chose from.

Edit: 21/2/2012.
ASK 21 is an aerobatic glider. I looked it up on Google.
Another is the Swift S-1. I don't think there are any of these in YSF.
Might I sugest that if you want to do aerobatics in the ASK 21, you change the .dat, so you can do quicker, and tighter loops. As from the videos I have looked at, the roll rate is about right.
