Tron Recognizer, Tron Light cycle, Tron Light tank

Post by MPP » Mon Dec 19, 2011 12:37 pm

I've looked around for a Recognizer, Light cycle and Light Tank from the film Tron (The original one), and I've not found anything, so I'm wondering if anyone's willing to make them. I can supply information on them. I would make 'em myself but I seem unable to get Blender to work to even do repaints of aircraft. (I've got the most recent version and the .dnm importer but when I try to install the importer into Blender it tells me the add-on does not have UTF-8 coding or something. Help for this would be nice, just PM it to me instead of posting it here.)

Anyway, here's some links to help you make them. I'll see if I can find more info on them at a later date once I know if someone's willing to take up my request.

Heh, waspe and I talked about making some tron stuff not too long ago. Unfortunately I'm kinda overstretched ys-wise but I'll keep it in mind in case no one does it.

If you have Blender 3.xx, the Ysfscripts won't work. They were made for earlier versions. I beleve that Vandel is working on new ones, for Blender 3.xx.
Fliped out of the arena, again! :(

I think there's an older version of blender in here.

That one is alright, Shutter. I use that one to do stuff.

Encoding problems are very classical, could you give me the exact error message please.

Vince, I'll see if I can get it to give the error message again. If the version of Blender I get from the link Shutter gave me works, I'll use that instead. I'll probably try to make them myself if it works. I'll dig the error message out from Blender at some point.

Thanks for your help guys. I'll get back to you soon.

I got Blender working. The version from the YS Paint Kit Shutter linked me to. I got it working so well I even managed to repaint an aircraft! I doubt I'll be modelling anytime soon but I'm able to throw together a repaint in under an hour(Without polygon splitting. Maybe two hours with polygon splitting). Thanks for your help on getting Blender working for me. Still, my request for someone to make these is still open for now until I can make a decent version of these (Which could be months, so you've got time)

I may take a shot at the Recognizer at some point. I'd like to do the plane more, but it's a touch complicated.
