Try using the 2015 version of YSFlight instead. the 2018 versions are a bit buggy. Open up the sce*.lst file and make sure the other files are in the proper location as listed in the sce*.lst file that comes with the download.

So delete the current version and download the recommended version?

I'm unfamiliar with the windows 10 YSFlight installation, If there is an uninstaller, then I'd reocmmend using that, but essentially yes. Uninstall 2018 and install 2015 as recommended by the getting started guides

SOCAL.fld and SOCAL.stp should be in user/neocon/SOCAL, not scenery. Just copy the scenery and user folders from the addon .zip into your main YS folder
