Aviation X-files

Post by Gunny » Mon Jan 04, 2016 1:26 am

Notice anything different about this theoretically active strip in Varney W.V.
Other than its sitting on top of a reclaimed strip coal mine.

It's hard to tell from the up-top-view, but looking at the airfield via a Google map it appears it sits on top of a plateau.

Well, I only see what may be a small hangar and what could be some kind of tower, but not a single aircraft.

I heard a conspiracy theorist once who claimed there is an underground base where the corn field opens up and reveals a runway with an elevator down into the below-ground hangar. Perhaps what I thought was a hangar is actually the elevator. The government is never anywhere as good at hiding its secret bases as the conspiracy theorists will tell you.
