I know exactly how you feel, I went through 3 Cyborg X joysticks before I switched over to a different brand.

TOTD: Tomorrow will be the last day I'll be able to enjoy the great feeling of being a freeloader at my home. College registrations await me this Sunday (24th of May). I've read/heard countless of advice and tips about surviving in college life. I need a breather. So, any (nonsensical/ridiculous/seemingly blatant) tips for this newbie, here?

My advice for the American college freshman:*
Go to class. If you don't go to class, act surprised when you fail the test anyway.
Research social clubs and organizations before joining one to make sure they don't share videos after doing stupid things.
Get an alarm clock that is really loud.
Familiarize yourself with state weapons laws. That knife you are holding behind me there may be legal, but could still get you expelled.**
Don't join the Wicca club thinking they know real witchcraft. Willow did that when she went to UC Sunnydale and was very disappointing.
If you have to have a meal plan, use it. If not, get your baloney by the tube and slice it yourself. It saves money.
On a similar note, SPAM is good, but TREAT is the same thing at a lower price.
Raman noodles. I remember when they were under $0.10 per package. A 12 pack case was only a dollar. Now they cost more, but they are still cheaper than buying soup in a can.
On Halloween, don't dress up as a person from any culture, occupation, or country. While this is totally acceptable in the real world, liberal nuts on college campi have a way of tweeting about things like that until the racist, cultural appropriator is removed from campus by security and expelled.
Avoid all of these issues by attending one of the many, excellent, online universities.

*This advice might be useless in other countries.
**This advice is good for anybody who happens to be behind me with a knife. Hi!

I hate english, literature, writing arts and the like. What I hate even more are people who get all giggly and and excited when a professor assigns some stupid project. I'm studying on how to build things not how to become the next Shakespeare or to be the next chief editor of the New York Times and writing weekly articles discussing why liberalism is so great.

And one huge thing thing Pat left out,

Wrap it up.

I just watched the Dragnet episode "The Big Prophet". They went back and forth with a pro-legalization guy. They made the same arguments you hear today. Some personal opinions:
- People who support medical marijuana really just want to have a good time.
- Marijuana is not a cure-all, or likely a cure for anything.
- People who take marijuana are probably no more or less of a threat to society than people who get drunk on alcohol.
- Marijuana as a gateway drug is probably overstated.
- There is no good reason to ban low-THC hemp, which has a long history of use in making ropes, cloth, and paper.

Thought of the day: I don't drink, smoke, or use mind-altering drugs. I don't think others should do these things. I also don't think people should wear leggings as pants or cut their hair like Justin Bieber.

TOTD: No one should stop people from doing things they want to do just because they personally disagree with it.

Gay marriage and Marijuana legislation come to mind.
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

Leggings are skin-tight pants made with thin materials. A recent trend I've seen is for women to wear leggings with wavy bands of fall colors (dark orange, brown, red) around them, along with a "Easter" colored shirt (bright purple, pink, yellow, etc.). I call this the "clown look". All they need is a red nose. When leggings first became popular, women wore them under a skirt or shorts. Now they wear them with a long shirt.
Some leggings have been made to resemble blue jeans. They call them jeggings.

Thought of the day: If you want a truly free society, you have to be willing to allow others to be free to do things you don't enjoy for your own freedom to do things you enjoy, as long as neither of you are harming another person in the process.

"...rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will, within the limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others."

Maybe he dresses up in his spare time. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
