Re: [BLENDER] YSFS 2.0 - YSFlight Tools for Blender 2.75+
If so, the reliability of the SRF/DNM exporting should be identical if I am not mistaken.
In this case, I will most likely be making the upgrade myself. Some of the new functions in the latest builds of blender are really useful, for example I have moved models to a new blender build in the past to use the better decimate function which doesn't just remove polygons but simplifies the mesh by looking for polygons that can be merged with the least distortion to the model itself.

As I know, it was rewrited from scratch by mrmofumofuOfficerFlake wrote:So this is a direct conversion from the old 2.49b sources to the new 2.75+ blender?

Things that you talk about is not YSFlight specific, but Blender only futures.OfficerFlake wrote:In this case, I will most likely be making the upgrade myself. Also, at this moment CLA variables export not work yet, but, think I will fix it soon and add property dialog for that too.
Main target is collecting all needed functions for designing YS addons in one widget on Tool Shelf (without needs find some specific functions in many other menus and submenus).
Work in progress, so you can help impove it.

I will add license information, but in your "release_v2.0.zip" there no any license file, look inside this:mrmofumofu wrote:YOU ARE IN BREACH OF MIT LICENSE!
I'M VERY VERY ANGLY!
https://github.com/pasutisu/exportsrf/r ... e_v2.0.zip
License file now only in "master" branch, so try reupload your release with license files, please.
Anyway, I add links to your original github page. Don't worry about it and do not think that I "fork" specially, I only try improve it and you are welcome in using this sources too.
This is only effort for different scripts in one panel on ToolShelf in Blender.
But one more change I recommend you to do is renaming "ExportSRF" to "ExplodeSRF" in file "explode_srf.py".
Also, I add 3rd party addons in my zip as data, but "ysfs_2_0.py" is my own work.
Licensing issues for that: https://www.blender.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18832

And for this, I am also not happy.mrmofumofu wrote:YOU ARE IN BREACH OF MY LICENSE!

There's a clear misunderstanding here of rights to use, so I encourage you both to work together to sort this out. Until such time, u2fly, I have removed the link as a precautionary measure.
Please contact the admin team if you wish to dispute, this is perfectly acceptable.
I will not lock the topic JUST YET, but I will be hovering my finger on the lock button so to say. Please discuss and resolve the issues at hand. I trust you can both resolve peacefully and respectfully like adults.
As a software developer myself, I do understand and appreciate Mr Mofumofu's rights, but I also acknowledge the possible ambiguous interpretation of rights. Hence why I have not issued any formal warnings to anyone (yet).
That said, we at HQ have a policy to not allow addons of any type to be posted if the original works author does NOT give permissions for derivative works to be made. This is why I have taken this action so to be consistent with this policy.
Please do see the admin team, both of you, to discuss further if needed.
Re: YSFS 2.0 - YSFlight Scripts for Blender 2.75+
I missed adding LICENSE file to release binary...
But I wish you follow my licence(MIT License).
And only in following that, I accept to use my script freely.
I'd hoped you to contact me before release...
And if including my code with small changes, writing my name to authors...

Re: YSFS 2.0 - YSFlight Scripts for Blender 2.75+
As, I sad above I already add authors of scripts used in YSFS 2.0 and give a links.
I'm not hack original "exportsrf" scripts, and try use it legally as fork according to MIT License. I hope we can make it better, but you sad this:
Or did you, @mrmofumofu, change point of view? I hope we can collaborate for creating new generation scripts for YSFlight add-ons developers.mrmofumofu wrote:You forked my source so I understood you will be improbe my code yourself. Please do it by yourself!
Another question is, did @mrmofumofu use original "YSFS" scripts created by "Vincent A. and Josiah H" in his work, that was copyrighted under GNU GPLv2 License:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ysfsblender/
If so, then "exportsrf" must be licensed under GNU GPLv2 too.
Anyway, I use fork of opensource "exportsrf" under MIT License and save original authors of if too (but I dont understand why you choose this license and not WTFPL).
My original script is only "ysfs_2_0.py" that I can license under any other license.
As I know, there no problems to include in one zip different scripts under different licenses, only need include all this licenses and in README file tell what file use each license.
P.S.: About legacy on YSFHQ, I'm sure there are many problems in different addons where logos and trademarks used without permission of their copyright holders in hope that author think about "fair use", but sometime this is not true.

I delete exportsrf repository.
And I won't release any release exportsrf.

Re: YSFS 2.0 - YSFlight Scripts for Blender 2.75+
Here is my latest development version of "YSFS 2.x" add-on for Blender 2.78 (or above).
CHANGELOG:
- add-on placed in "User Preferencess... > Add-ons > Airplanes 3D" category in Blender menu;
- added import DNM/SRF on tool panel and in import dialog;
- added "NACA Airfoil" generator on "YSFS" panel;
- added "Cars" generator on "YSFS" panel;
- other small fixes.
ATTENTION! This add-on still in development!
Some function may not work or will work incorrect, so DON'T USE IT FOR SERIOUSE MODELING!

Re: YSFS 2.0 - YSFlight Scripts for Blender 2.75+
(2) Unless a material is applied, then blender 2.49 only imports the vertices. Probably a symptom of missing the colors for each face.
(3) Import DNM wrecks the parent-child relationships and only seems to import the srfs and centers them all at the origin. It also removes any animations.
(4) Export DNM has multiple errors:
- object centers are offset
- z axis is flipped

I would recommend you install Blender 2.49b + latest version of YSFS 1.x addon: YSFS 2.x addon for Blender 2.7x not fully functional yet. But I'm working on it!
