Barra airport control tower

Post by Strava »

I was looking for a small control tower suitable for a small private airport.
And looking for a small project that would let me learn all the parts of ground objects.
I like the look of the tower at Barra airfield so here ya go.

Created from scratch using only gepolyo and notepadd++
You are free to use this on any YSF map as long as:
You give me credit for the model
and
Say what changes (if any) you made to it.

I know this is much more detailed than most YSF objects so I have included a lite version and a coarse model.
But, I did not have any fps drop when I replaced the tower at Resort Island with this one.
And I am running on a pretty low spec laptop :P

For real Strava, you're turning out to be one of the best new members we've had here for a while. Kudos, keep up the good work.

There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

Hello. I've joined in order to send a message to Strava about his wonderful Barra Control Tower I've just seen.

I have MS FS2004 & have made a Barra Airport. While looking for a suitable control tower I cam across a picture of the Barra Island control tower created by one Strava (JB). I've not come across YSFlight until now and I wonder if Strava will tell me if his tower can be used in FS2004 & would he let me use it?

Thanks,

That's up to him, however considering he was last active in 2018 don't expect to receive permission.

Although considering you're using FS2004 I'm guessing it's for personal use and if that is the case normal restrictions do not apply and you can use to your hearts content, provided you don't release it.

Yes you can use the tower. Tho I would like to hear what it takes to convert it from YSF format to MS FS2004 format.
