Scenery Edit Text

Post by FrenchTOZT »

Quick question, have not found an answer.
Is it at all possible to change the font of the Text function in scenery editor? I have not been able to locate anything that bridges a truetype or other font file.

Well I guess it is not possible, because it also has only one type of source in Scenery Editor.

At the current state, no. It is only one font. You can, however, create custom text using polygons or ground objects.

Actually, if you are good in Blender, you can figure out how to create a 2-D text block in almost any font. And I have no idea what Gunny is talking about.

Can't edit the .exe file which is what changin the font would probably require. ;)

Could do this if you so pleased:

Create a srf of the text in blender

Edit in notepad (search/replace) and make it into a .pc2 instead.

I've done that before, but again, it's a real pain in the arse...

Or you can import a reference image of the text and trace.

Tracing is inacurate though.

Aw, Come on; I've seen some pretty sharp details in some of the maps that've been done
the past couple of years, surely one can get it close enough to look smooth from 1,000 Ft.

Nvm the manual edit.

You can export .fld in blender, so just create your text, make the .fld, open the fld and isolate to a pc2 part again.

Text -> Fld -> SceneEdit -> Pc2.
