Just wanted to say hello...

Post by Hawks » Thu Jan 31, 2013 5:42 pm

Hello! Nice to meet you!

My name is Bernd. I am 39 years old, located in Germany (100km south of Hannover) and stumbled upon YSFlight some time ago without realising there might be a community dedicated to it. And such a resourceful one at that.
I spent most of my childhood near an RAF Airfield (Gutersloh) and while most of my neighbors complaint about the noise I fell for those Harrier Jets and Chinook and Puma Helis flying over our roofs every day.
I have a sweet spot for ww2-warbirds, too, especially for those with 12-Cylinder engines.
My Nickname has its origins in my early Computer-"FlySim"-Games ("Red Baron", "Battle of Britain", "Interceptor", "Falcon Patrol", etc.) where in Red Baron I named "my" Pilot "Johann Falken" when playing the german campaign and "John Hawks" (literally translated) when playing the allied side.
I am looking forward browsing this highly informative forum. I´d very much like to join a server-game but me living in a rural area means there is no high-speed internet connection i could use. So I´ll lurk around here for the time being.
Cheers!

Welcome to the HQ. Like you, I first found YSF and assumed I was one of maybe 5 people that played it. You can imagine my reaction upon finding this place.
