Those animations look sweet! I didn't see any decal glitches.

For the decal clashes, maybe you could try cutting them to match the curves of the tail, like in one of decaff's tutorials. But instead of separating and rotating the cut vertices as a new object, after cutting the decals, just begin shrink wrapping. I have been able to use offsets of just 0.01 or in the best case 0.005, and coupled with the parent-child relationships this allows for clash-free superb shrinkwrapping that works even on D3D.

I still need to connect the airport to the road network and clean up the taxiways. I am experimented with taxiway center lights to help with night-time operations. If it works, I'll eventually add them to other major airports in Guam to SoCal.

This is the city. I used elevation grids to make the two largest buildings. The roads aren't realistic, since they are transplanted from San Fierro. That construction area next to CJ's garage is there, too.

Mount Chiliad got modified for reuse, along with some redwood trees. No pictures of that.

Thick line .08 base black when done with line go to map select all elements than to make multi coordinate input from then center of thick line than choose color[yellow] of thick line than change the thick line to.06.It should show the black and yellow line if so hit the space key to except. If not do not despair keeping it still selected and the color still yellow go to thick line again and change the default dimension to .06 do not hit the enter key it should at that point show the colors properly than hit the space bar.You probably already know this but just in case.Unfortunately you will not be able to do this again for the taxi line lights. That is just as well because the taxi lights do not go in the center of the line anyway they are offset to one side or the other [In the U.S.]depending on the direction of the taxi.If you already knew this than maybe it will help someone else.

Do taxiways not have center lights? I did center lines in Honolulu the way you suggested. I guess a yellow line is a little better than the nothing I typically use. Haha. I wish there was a shortcut for edge lights.

Detailing airports is definatly tedious work but in the end it is worth the effort if only for my own satisfaction. :)

Here's a close-up of the airport with lines instead of lights.

Patrick, that looks amazing! I've always wanted to make San Francisco. In fact, I wanted to make it after I finished Venice. The taxiway lines always encourage me to make taxiways out of thick lines instead of polygons (and I see a beautiful NatComAir 757? over there at the terminal) Will this be added to the Pacific Rim map? Because I can't wait to fly from here to other destinations (TONS). I do see a lot of ground objects at the terminal like jetways. If you want, I have an elevation grid jetway that I could package up and send to you. Actually your probably using a good amount of ground objects, it's just me thats crazy about elevation grids. I also have a couple of elevation grid control towers. I'm just saying this because the airport is huge, how long did it take you? Nice mountain(s), look realistic!

It took longer to make this airport than any single airport I ever made.

Now it's on to Oakland.

I got KOAK added to the map. I plan to make a low-detail version of the Golden Gate Bridge. Then I'll start looking at other airports in the area.

Here's Alcatraz Island. This is where the YSFAA sends pilots who have been naughty.

Some updates from the on-going Central Mediterranean Islands project (an expansion of Turbot-Winnsworth V1.1).

New urban areas directly north of MLA.

I gave Abel Jets a new flight operations/crew meeting center.

Here's another look at the newest addition to the Mandiola skyline I posted a few days ago. A 1,500 foot supertall skyscraper, the CMI Center. The height is not counting the antenna pole at the top. This was done using an 8 X 8 elevation grid and hiding the flat faces at the bottom.

Ooooh that city looks good TurboFan! Need more dense cities in YSF!
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

Agreed! I'm experimenting with more buildings without going overboard. I want to give the user a good experience without bogging the FPS down. So I've created a cluster closer in to the airport area where you can actually start seeing details of buildings and such.

More updates to follow!

In my work on the F-20, I noticed that I needed an Aim-7 Sparrow missile! Not many references out there in terms of drawings, but I found one that worked well. I used the BNI AIM-120 as a reference for style.

I also have finished the Afterburner. I had a lot of trouble with orange seeping around the black in between the inner and outer portions of the afterburner petals. With some creative mesh editing and painting , I was able to get it to stop showing through.
