Currently the YS Radar project is on hold, so I'm not sure if anybody is still hosting the client. If you have it, please reupload.

Thanks, Philster. The link is good, but now when I click Power>Connect to ATC server, I get a "Connection error". I'm using the english readme file to learn how to run it. Does YS have to be running or is just internet problems?

You need to know the ip address of someone running the "radar server", there are not so many, actually, only on the ones running YSPS.
I have plans of an other version of both the server and the client.

Soji should gather all this awesome 3-party mods and implement them in the next version. Is this usable for squads?

Bump.
How exactly does YS Radar work and how do you install it?

It's a glorified python script.
A server needs to be running YSPS or YSATC Server (.py) to enable the YSRadar.
Forthwith, after this, you can run the client and connect to the server via YSRadar.
In some time, I'll write a new type of YSRadar. Maybe.

This is partially off topic, but how do you send commands to YSPS and how do you "view" ATC?

New server version for use with latest YSFlight netcode: https://gist.github.com/EricTendian/8500747
Download the Python file:
http://ysfhq.com/erict15/ysradar.py
Edit: INSTRUCTIONS
First, make sure you have
Python 2.7 installed.
Right click on the ysradar.py link (2nd one) and click Save As. Save it to your desktop or something, just a place where you can remember it.
Now just double-click on the ysradar.py link to launch it. It will ask you for some information. After you entered the info, you should be able to connect with the YS Radar client. The IP for connecting to your local server is "localhost".
