I get the shots by flying chase and then replacing the aircraft model with a transparent one I made. As for the lower taxi shots, I drive a car and repeat the process.
That's pretty similar to YSCamera - YSCamera is a custom aircraft with no visual model, or a video frame etc. You fly your "follow" aircraft, then run the camera script and it faces the camera toward the target aircraft. The problem is the shot can seem too artificial and it loses the flow of motion so I do like your idea of controlling the camera manually. Do you use the mouse set to the viewpoint then to manage this?
I am an accountant working full-time (and some). I'm not here as often as I would like to be. Send a message if you need me. There are a few people in the community who can get in contact with me urgently if you need - don't be afraid to ask. I just don't check here as frequently as I used to. Sorry!

F7 with some zoom and a fixed camera angle. I try to keep the chase plane as solid as possible so that I can keep them in the center of the frame. Regardless, the clips are so short in the video that the planes never leave the frame and I won't have to track them. There was only one clip that the camera moves in the entire video and it was an accident that it made it into the final cut.

Watching that clip makes me wish I had a better editing software back then, and a better rig.

Black bars-when used tastefully-is awesome

Editing is slick, camera work is on point.

Please make more. That was breathtaking!

Latest attempt at a YSFlight video, parts I could do better going into more detail but it was a learning curve for future vids

Some new videos I've uploaded on my channel (first one has also been linked in Discord):

Both videos are from past Friday Night Flights.
Check out my YSFS videos on my Youtube channel!

My general rant: I will call them blended winglets, not Sharklets; There is no CEO, it's just simply put, an Airbus 319/320/321, or the 320NEO, 321NEO etc. I didn't land IN DAL, I landed AT DAL. On the other hand, I did land in Dallas.

Hi! I make average, undesirable, boring grey maps for YS Flight!
