YS Flight Server Problems

Post by IrishAirline99 » Mon May 26, 2014 3:32 pm

Hi All,

I haven`t been that active recently due to school and exams :( . I was trying to connect to the HAVA server a few days ago and I got the message: "cannot connect to host" I tried connecting to several other servers but I continued to get the same message. I recently changed internet providers, would this be something to do with it?

Thanks in advance,

-Cake

be sure to check ysfhq server list, and copy-paste IP from there. Some server changed IP recently.
also make sure the right port is selected (normally 7915)

If you copy and paste, it will probably add a space at the beginning of the server address in YSF, so you need to go to the beginning and press DELETE to get rid of it.

Or just type the whole thing yourself.

I, too, am having connection issues:

-I am able to connect to 42south.servegame.com and cvw-171st.com just fine.

-I receive the "cannot connect to the host" error message when I attempt to connect to either vas.servebeer.com or cpfunhouse.no-ip.biz.

-I have verified that I am typing/copying the IP's correctly.

-I have installed the "YS Essentials" add-on pack, so I SHOULD have the necessary maps (stock hawaii for cpfunhouse and Hawaii[PMNV]-2014 for virtual airline server.)

Any thoughts?

DesertPlah,

Hmm. That is very strange. I wonder if anyone has an answer to that, because I don't. :geek:

Check your internet firewall settings. Change some options or try disabling it.

I ran into that issue some time ago; I could start up a server, but could not connect to someone else's. I did the above, and it fixed the problem.

This may sound dumb, but... try restarting your computer and/or router?

Here's another "dumb" one:
2013 version automatically appends (7915) on same line as IP of stored servers.
You get that same error if you just click on them and don't separate the port number.

What exactly is the error? Are you getting a black screen and lots of rolling text then nothing? Or simply a dialogue box saying cannot connect to host?

Ports are 7915 for those servers. Are you using these?

Are you having internet connectivity trouble? I know I get kicked when a particular computer is used on my home network... Or the microwave is being used...

That is a bit odd. You have the correct map installed - usually if you don't then the black login screen comes up, rushes through text and disconnects you. You are just simply being rejected from connecting to the server (some but not others) outright.

I see no reason that you can't join those servers... The ports are the same so I doubt it's your firewall. Perhaps the server has banned people in your IP range - and now you're caught in it. Otherwise it may be the host IP - both are hosted on no-ip which may be unlikely since 42South.servegame.com is on no-ip as well. Could also be a technical issue with those specific names. Give it a little while and try again - post here and let us know hoe you go :).

Day 3ish, still no access to VAS.servebeer.com. I see people on there, and not on other servers, and I want to go there… :(

I suggest trying to connect through the direct IP address (for VAS: "31.49.113.2").
You may have to try the same for CP's server...

Edit:
As Ray informed us, the noip hosting site may be down for a while.
http://www.no-ip.com

and this...

Hey guys I just found this in my inbox from no-ip. This may be the reason why you can't connect to the no-ip addresses.

We want to update all our loyal customers about the service outages that many of you are experiencing today. This is NOT A TECHINCAL ISSUE WITH NO-IP.
This morning, Microsoft served a federal court order and seized 22 of our most commonly used domains because they claimed that some of the subdomains have been abused by creators of malware. We were very surprised by this. We have a long history of proactively working with other companies when cases of alleged malicious activity have been reported to us. Unfortunately, Microsoft never contacted us or asked us to block any subdomains, even though we have an open line of communication with Microsoft corporate executives.

We are working through the night on an alternative solution to resolve these issues. Please know that we are on your side with this issue and are doing everything we can to resolve it as quickly as possible.
