YSFHQ Combat Training Sessions

Post by Bombcat » Mon Jun 23, 2014 1:33 am

I would like to propose that every week, we schedule a regular combat training session on some subject relevant to military flight - gun combat, missile interceptions, dive bombing, heavy bombers, helos, carrier landings, whatever. Individuals or groups who have a particular talent would sign up to lead each session, and anyone would be free to attend. Those who are experienced could help out, and practice, while those who are newer would have the opportunity to learn in a friendly environment. I'd be happy to lead some of these events myself, but I think we've got a lot of talent here, and would like to see anyone who is interested get involved. Requirements would be quite limited - a server admin may be helpful to respawn targets if the training unit is using a server they do not run. All we'd need is people eager to share their knowledge. Feel free to discuss, or offer to lead a week on a topic.

To begin, I'd like to offer to lead a session of carrier training sometime next weekend (timing TBD) - focusing on landings, but possibly also including carrier defense or carrier based strikes as well, as time and interest permit.

Count me in!
I don't have much to teach at the moment, but I'm interested in learning whatever people feel like teaching.

Very good. Is there a particular time that would work best for those of you who are interested? I know schedules change week to week, but having a general target would simplify planning. In general, I think something like Saturday and Sunday afternoons (Saturday and Sunday night GMT) would work well for me, but I am eager to see what would be good for others.

Evening to late GMT would probably work fine for me. I'm interested in most everything I can learn, but I have a few tricks for radar evasion that I could pass on. Nothing fancy, mind you, but something that can make hunting down phantoms on the ww3 server a little more interesting.

At this point, I want to shoot for 11PM - 3AM GMT (7-11PM US East Coast) for today.

I will most certainly be there, and I am looking forward to seeing anybody else that would like to join in.
