I. can anyone give me some kind of tutorial/help on building new ground objects??
(I guess you mean "Creating a brand-new ground object from scratch")

You need to make 3 files to create a ground object, a .SRF (or .DNM) file, a .DAT file. and a .LST file.
  • *SRF(DNM) file contains 3D model data of the object.
*DAT file defines all necessary attributes e.g. object name, strength, size and so on.
*LST file, which is a list of ground objects
Here's basic what-to-dos:
1. Make a 3D model 2. Select the object, then export it as a .srf file (File -> Export -> SRF)
3. Make the .DAT file.
  • DAT files of ground objects are relatively simple, compared to aircraft DATs...
So… yeah… watch and learn from default ground object DATs...
4. Make the .LST list file so that YSFLIGHT recognises your object.
As for more complicated objects (like tanks, destroyers and aircraft carriers), additional files will be needed to add features.

II. can anyone at present tell me how to raise/decrease height of ground object???

In SceneryEditor,
1. DRAG with a RIGHT click while pressing SHIFT key to rotate your view
2. Select the ground object you want to move
3. Edit -> Move -> Current Item
4. DRAG with a RIGHT click to move the object vertically. Done!
Alternatively you can use the coordinate box at the bottom of the window.
Select the object, Edit->Move->Current_Item then put the coordinates in the box!

Good luck!
